About Natural Child and Family Portraits

First, thank you for your inquiry. I LOVE photographing families and children and dogs and babies. It is my favorite thing to do. The only thing that I love more about my job is giving these little moments in time to you. It is one of my greatest joys to know I've succeeded in capturing a moment in your life.

I love rolling eyes and embarrassed teenagers. I love little hands and drool and proud daddies. I love to give you a photograph that shows your child the way that you see them every day—the child that all your memories are made of.

Over time, my work has evolved into what I call Natural Child Photography—a gentle, authentic approach designed to capture each child’s true spirit. Your children are never posed, propped or coerced into shots that they don't want to do. And there are no silly backgrounds or gimmicks. I combine fine art with documentary photography to showcase your children's personalities and your family's bonds. I will definitely capture that gorgeous face and mischievous smile. But I will also probably get the tantrum, the Cheerios, and the way they grab mom's hand when they are tired. To me, the Every Day is just as important as the Wedding and the Graduation. I will help you catch moments in your loved ones’ childhood that you will cherish—pouts and blinks and drools included.

Please review the site and the photography to see if my style is what you are looking for. If you love what you see, contact us to get started. You will begin your journey with a planning session. This will be done in my studio or over the phone. I am hoping to get a feel for what you really want to take with you from this experience. We will also decide on the location for the sitting and book a date.

Your finished portrait will be the combined result of your child's character, personality and mood, your family interaction, and my ability to capture it all. It will be different from the photographs you would receive at a traditional portrait studio or kiosk at the mall. And of that I am very proud.
